2011 Departmental Statistics

 

 

Patrol Division:

  • Responded to 19,483 calls for service

  • Documented 726 Incident Based Reporting system events

  • Made 935 arrests–50 for DUI and 69 narcotics arrests

  • Served 2,741 civil and criminal papers

  • Conducted 26,970 property checks

Investigative Division:

General Investigative Unit:

  • Investigated 252criminal cases

  • Made arrests, of which 162 were felonies

  • The division has an overall clearance rate of 40% - the national average is below 20%

Narcotics Investigative Unit:

  • Investigated 81 cases, of which 68 were felonies

  • Made 24 arrests

  • Seized narcotics with a street value of over $390,000.00

Civil Process:

  • Served 14,747 legal documents

 Crime Prevention Division:

  • Provided full time School Recourse Officers (SRO) for both high schools

  • Provided two part time SRO to teach new GREAT curriculum in the elementary schools and to frequent the middle schools and technical center

  • Provided 3 certified GREAT trainers

  • Provided security for all home football and basketball games for both high schools

  • Operated and expanded our Project Lifesaver initiative, which can electronically track those who are at risk for becoming lost

  • Helped establish and initiate 2 new Neighborhood Watch programs, bringing the total to 18 active programs in the county

  • Recruited and started training 4 Auxiliary Deputies; more are signing on

  • Gave 52 public speaking talks designed to provide vital information to various public entities about scams, personal safety, business security, etc.

  • Initiated and held the first ever adult RAD (Rape Awareness and Defense) training in the county – this will be an ongoing semi-annual training for our citizens
